I worked within the Enterprise Architecture team working with both Infrastructure Architects, Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects. My remit was to produce high level Infrastructure designs for new solutions ensuring solutions aligned with current standards whilst meeting business requirements.

The teams remit is to implement pure infrastructure solutions focusing on SAN, Compute, virtualisation and Operating system. In addition to the implementation the team would also provide 3rd/4th line support to the operation team.

I work for Skipton Building Society IT Shared Service Centre (IT SSC) in the IT SSC Architecture and Solutions Delivery team. The IT SSC provides managed IT services for the Skipton group of companies. The teams remit is to work with the architect team to fully understand new solution requirements in order to achieve successful implementation and transition to the support teams. The last 12 to 18 months I worked on a data centre and cloud project which introduced new technologies to the Society including Cisco UCS Compute, VMware ESXi 5.5 and vCloud suite.
