For the year of 2017, I worked at Body Shape Gordon in several departments, in particular administration and gym floor. Receptionist duties include the selling of membership packages, managing walk-in inquiries, handling current member queries, complaint handling procedures, operation of the GYMMASTER database, answering the phone, replying to emails, designing posters and the decoration of facilities. Gym floor tasks include regular cardio, weights and core programming for members every 4 – 6 weeks, opening and closing procedures to assist in shift handovers, cleaning of machines and floor area maintenance, assisting members in their exercising regimes on the floor.

Over the previous two years, I have had the amazing opportunity to further my sales and administration skills with the ongoing support of the prestigious Millennium Health Club. Customer service is of the highest standard and I have learnt to handle myself professionally in any situation. Tasks have ranged from selling membership packages, handling walk-in and phone enquiries and dealing with customer complaints, to operation of the CLUBWISE database, closing and opening procedures and assisting with advertising campaigns.

During 2015, I was fortunate enough to be employed by Ravenswood School to coach several netball and touch football teams. The teams ranged in ability as well as age (both junior and senior teams). The job involved planning and organising multiple training sessions, strategy sessions and game plans for the matches throughout the season. I was able to display my leadership qualities as well as developing my coaching skills and was given the opportunity to work under pressure. I have been given the opportunity to continue my role as a netball and touch football coach in 2016.

For the past 7 years, I have coached a team of 10 diverse, talented and enthusiastic netballers, reaching the grand final 6 times and achieving 4 premierships. Many of the girls are from different ethnic backgrounds with some having difficulty speaking English. For this reason, I explain my instructions clearly and in simple terms to ensure all the girls have an understanding of my suggestions. I have been described by the parents of these girls as being a natural leading with initiative, a zest for life and great patience in times of trial. These girls mean the world to me and I am fortunate enough to not only be their coach but also be one of their greatest friends. They are an extremely inspiring team to watch and the experiences of watching them grow into young women and improving their skill set is the most rewarding experience there is.
