Managing the Special Events Committee; Responsible fore the planning, development and implementation of our 3 largest revenue-making special events annually including the Golf Tournament, Summer Social and Silent Auction

Assisted with the conceptualization, design and implementation of the theme, decor and fundraising for this annual event benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of San Marcos. This event is the single largest fundraising event for this location.

With the help of the Awards committee, I was able to initiate, plan and successfully execute my vision for the inaugural 2013 SMPS San Diego Awards Gala. The event was a smashing success attended by a list of who's who in the San Diego A/E/C industry and emceed by San Diego's beloved Interim Mayor, Todd Gloria. Despite many obvious obstacles faced by striving to execute an upscale event for a non-profit with a minimal budget, we were able to deliver an elegant evening complete with red carpet entrance, step-and-repeat, paparazzi, live music, delicious food catered by local restaurant Alchemy and a hosted bar. This first-ever event exceeded everyone's expectations - and in addition to being profitable for our local chapter, raised an additional $1,500 for our annual charity, The Community Project: Ethopia! http://communityproject.org/

Assist in marketing and developing program and event topics for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), San Diego Chapter. Getting the word out to an extensive network of A/E/C professionals.

As President of SMPS San Diego, I manage a 20 person Board of Directors and am responsible for keeping our chapter in line with our mission and goals and ensuring that we remain financially healthy. We have been successful in providing our members with quality programming, including business development opportunities, luncheon programs and educational workshops, as well as conducting community outreach to raise awareness of our organization and the benefits we provide for professionals in the A/E/C community. In addition, we have partnered with an Annual Charity Partner, Cancer for College, in which we have donated over $4,000 to date in the last year and a half.

Initiated a sub-committee of the San Diego Housing Federation's Membership & Fundraising Committee to help nurture up-and-coming leadership in the market sector of Affordable Housing Development in San Diego. The Rising Leaders group hosted events such as "Meet the CEO Sessions", Professional Development seminars and networking opportunities.
