The University of Nebraska Foundation was created in 1936 by community leaders who wanted to create excellence at the University of Nebraska not solely possible through state funding. We are recognized as one of America’s Favorite Charities by the Chronicle of Philanthropy in a ranking of the country’s top 100 charities. We transfer about $200 million a year to the university and its affiliates while having more than 99 percent of foundation assets restricted to a specific use.
