The University of Congress (UC) is the youngest of Mendoza's university institutions. Promoted by the Postgraduate Congress Foundation. The Postgraduate Congress Foundation, established in Buenos Aires and authorized to operate by resolution 1229 of December 20, 1990 of the General Inspectorate of Justice, managed the Institute of Public Policies for Latin America, of a higher non-university level, dependent on this jurisdiction of the General Directorate of Schools of the Province of Mendoza (IPPAL E-90), whose objective was to form a ruling class for the provincial public administration. Foundation and Institute designed the project to create a new university based on IPPAL, which was authorized in 1994 under the terms of the law then in force, Law 17,604 and other national standards. On April 29, 2003, the filing of the Postgraduate Foundation of Congress in the city of Mendoza, authorized to operate by resolution 414 of the Legal Department of the Province is authorized. The University of Congress and the Postgraduate Congress Foundation were developing their Institutional Project, progressively and selectively integrating different disciplines through professional careers and extension and research activities. In November 2008, the University completed its Self-Assessment Report, submitted to the Ministry of Education and received the External Evaluation in accordance with the agreement signed with CONEAU in June 2009. Today They can already say that the University of Congress has the definitive recognition to operate as a private institution, within the regime of the Higher Education Law.
