Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, a Catholic school in Merrimack, New Hampshire, is one of the few colleges in the United States that offers an exclusively classical education. At Thomas More there is one curriculum for all students that encompasses a wide range of disciplines. This comprehensive study of the Humanities, Classical Languages, Arts, Philosophy, Theology, Math and Science prepares students for a wide range of graduate programs and careers. The student life at Thomas More also encompasses this broad base of subject areas. Students may get involved with a club devoted to classical art, perform in a music ensemble, attend academic lectures and participate in numerous religious activities. There are also recreational activities such as woodworking, baking and gardening clubs. Since Thomas More’s education is designed to expand students’ perspective of the world, history and their place in it all, students are also required to spend a semester in Rome, Italy. Admission to Thomas More is competitive and materials used for evaluation of applicants include transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, recommendation letters and a personal essay.
