St. Johns College, located in Springfield, Illinois, is a private, not-for-profit, Roman Catholic four-year institution. Academics at this school are broken up into four groups: early admission, general admission pre-licensure, accelerated pre-licensure, and RN-BSN hybrid distance education. The early admissions program is intended for students seeking early placement. These students must complete seven semesters of high school courses, and their placement consideration is based on their high school qualifications. The general admission pre-licensure program is intended for students who have completed 30 semester hours of designated prerequisite lower division transferable college credit. The accelerated pre-licensure BSN program is designed for students who have earned a bachelor's degree in another field of study. During their first year of study, students in the general admission and accelerated programs will attend the same classes. The RN-BSN hybrid distance education program is for professional nurses who possess an unencumbered RN license and have graduated from an accredited Nursing program. While this school has rolling admissions, applicants are encouraged to apply early due to the competitiveness of acceptance. These activities take the form of community service, student government and professional clubs, as students are able to seek membership on various committees.
