S.T. Dupont Paris is a brand name and manufacturer of lighters, collectible pens, handbags, perfumes, cigarette, and recently other gadgets using the trademark diamond-head pattern. Originally from Savoy, Simon Tissot-Dupont-settled in Paris as a trunk maker. As the founder of the dynasty, ST Dupont owes icts initials to him - ''ST'', for Simon Tissot. In 1941, ST Dupont brought out a petrol lighter. In 1872, Simon Tissot Dupont created a luggage and leather-goods workshop, which then began to produce a steady stream of exceptional products for the highest social circles. Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie were among his first customers, quickly followed by the European elite. Exploring the world with S.T. Dupont luggage soon became essential. In the workshops at the family’s home town of Faverges in the French Alps, it called on seventeen different crafts, including leather making, goldsmithing, varnishing, gilding, polishing, plating, setting, tailoring and glassmaking, scaling the heights of perfection daily. S.T. Dupont's craftsmen select the finest leathers, exclusively from France, Italy and Spain, according to the strictest criteria: evenness, suppleness, strength and finesse. All the operations, from cutting to sewing, are performed by hand with masterful attention paid to every detail — for perfect finishes.
