Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) provides a spiritually and physically healthful learning and living environment based on the teachings of the Seventh Day Adventist church. Located in Keene, Texas, SWAU offers bachelor’s degrees in over 35 areas of study including the liberal and fine arts, sciences, nursing and business. SWAU also awards master’s degrees in business and education. Since SWAU adheres to the teachings of the Seventh Day Adventist church and incorporates those teachings into every area of life, students regularly engage in church services as well as spiritual outreach. Since the Adventist church recognizes the importance of physical well-being, on-campus dining and living facilities are also geared towards cultivating optimum health. However, SWAU is also sure to integrate some fun and recreation into student life, regularly hosts activities such as field trips, and is also home to various intramural sports.
