At Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC), in Los Angeles, California, students get an intensely hands-on education that prepares them for the chiropractic profession. Students begin doing hands-on chiropractic work early on at LACC. As they progress in their studies, students then observe professional chiropractors at work in the school’s clinic and at area chiropractic facilities. At the more advanced stages of their training, students then undertake internships at local chiropractic offices. They also do clinical rotations, which give them the chance to work with patients under professional supervision. LACC also operates the Healing Hands for Humanity Club, where students gain additional experience, by offering chiropractic services to low-income populations. LACC’s academics are another distinctive aspect of the program. In their fourth term, students take Selectives, or elective courses. After taking such electives, they choose such specializations as: * Diagnosis * Functional medicine * Nutrition * Sports medicine LACC’s financial aid offerings include academic and need-based scholarships, federal student loans and work-study awards. Students may receive financial aid from more than one of these sources. To apply for LACC admissions, applicants must complete the admissions application and submit college transcripts and high school transcripts or GED scores. Applicants will also need to submit two letters of recommendation and a statement outlining their goals and history.
