South Texas Vocational Technical Institute (STVT) is a career school that has campuses throughout the southwest. The campus in Brownsville, Texas, focuses exclusively on providing training for healthcare careers. Like all of STVT’s campuses, the Brownsville location also provides comprehensive and in-depth career counseling. Academics at the Brownsville campus include diplomas in: * Dental Assisting * Massage Therapy * Medical Assisting In addition to receiving close attention from the school’s faculty, students receive extensive support in looking for work. Career counselors help students to identify the types of facilities in which they wish to find work and help them to refine the skills they will need when looking for a job. Counselors do this by providing mentorship in resumes and cover letters and interviewing techniques. They also host on-campus seminars, where students have the chance to interview with local employers. Additional services include assistance with part-time work opportunities. Anyone with a high school diploma or GED may obtain admissions. To apply, applicants will need to interview with an admissions representative and fill out an enrollment agreement. Qualifying students may receive financial aid awards like loans and grants. STVT also offers tuition benefits to veterans.
