The original product line consisted of several plastic endodontic posts for casting techniques. In 1986, RTD began marketing posts utilizing short random carbon fibers for temporary restorations. This inspired the development of the FIRST high-performance fiber post. Collaboration between Dr. Marc Reynaud and Dr. Bernard Duret culminated in the 1988 introduction of the original carbon fiber post-COMPOSIPOST; with long equally pre-tensed carbon fibers.
