Formerly University of Southern Nevada, Roseman University in Henderson, Nevada, offers the highest level of training for several medical professions. Roseman also offers opportunities to perform clinical work while serving the community. A peaceful university in a rural setting with close proximity to the city, Roseman provides the best of both worlds with its location. Roseman’s advanced degrees include: * Doctorate of Pharmacy * Post-Doctoral Residency in Dental Medicine * Bachelor’s in Nursing For those who have a bachelor’s degree in another field, Roseman has an accelerated nursing program that allows students to earn their BSN in a little more than a year. Roseman offers a master’s degree in business administration in addition to its medical degrees. One of the highlights of Roseman’s medical programs is that they give students the chance to exercise their medical skills at community health fairs and outreach events, where they also serve the needs of those who don’t have insurance or the income needed to get proper medical care. Admissions requirements vary from one program to another. Those applying for the Post-Doctoral Dental Residency should have excelled in dental school, have volunteer experience and receive strong recommendation letters from previous faculty. Pharmacy applicants are required to have a minimum grade point average of 2.8, though the average grade point average of admitted students is 3.6. The PCAT test is also required, as is an interview. Financial aid includes departmental scholarships in the Nursing and Pharmacy programs and federal grants and loans. Students are encouraged to find out what the total lifetime loan limits are, compared to the total amount of loans they are awarded. A FAFSA is required for those who want to be considered for grants and loans.
