Pacific Drilling S.A. is a growing offshore drilling company that provides global ultra-deepwater drilling services to the oil and natural gas industry through the use of high-specification drillships. They have one of the newest and most technologically advanced fleets in the world. their vessels are all state-of-the-art, high-specification units, which benefit from a proven design and highly developed construction techniques. The company was founded in 2006 by Idan Ofer, a billionaire Israeli business magnate, and his holding company Quantum Pacific Group. It was listed on the Norwegian stock exchange as PDSA until 2011, when it joined the New York Stock Exchange as PACD. In October 2018, the Pacific Bora was awarded a drilling contract in Nigeria by Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited. In August 2019, the Pacific Santa Ana was awarded a contract in Senegal and Mauritania by Total S.A.. In March 2020, Murphy Oil awarded a two-well contract in Mexico to Pacific Drilling's Pacific Sharav ($230,000 day rate).
