Molloy College

Molloy College, a small, Catholic college on Long Island in Rocville Center, New York, wants its students to succeed, but also wants them to contribute something to society. Educating its students in academics and ethical and spiritual matters, as well as strengthenting their intellect, their creativity and their compassion, is Molloy’s mission. All of this is achieved in the intimate learning environment. With a small student body, classes remain small and the faculty, who are accomplished scholars, remain accessible. Undergraduate programs are offered in Accounting, Business Management, Nursing, Teacher Education and a number of other fields in the social sciences, natural sciences, liberal arts and humanities. Molloy also awards graduate degrees including master’s degrees in Business, Music Therapy, Social Work, and Speech Pathology, and a doctorate in Nursing. Classes at Molloy are rigorously academic and encourage the highest critical thinking. However, since it is a Catholic school, all subjects are studied from the perspective of Catholic ideals which are compassion, service and ethics. Student life also consists of activities intended to cultivate one’s Catholic practices. These include daily Mass, periodic retreats, liturgical music groups and choirs, prayer groups and numerous service outings spent delivering food and clothing to the poor and homeless. Campus ministries also make themselves available for all students in need of personal or spiritual counseling. Other activities include athletic teams, student publications and more than 40 student clubs and organizations. Student services encompass residential housing and dining, financial aid, health services, career development services and personal counseling.
