Mesabi Range College

Residents of Eveleth, Minnesota, may complete the first two years of their bachelor’s degree or get technical career training at Mesabi Range Community and Technical College. Armed with a Mesabi education, students can choose to continue their postsecondary studies or go straight into the workforce. Mesabi Range offers professional associate’s degrees in such fields as: * Carpentry * Masonry * Nursing * Welding The school also offers professional certifications in firefighting and several other occupational areas. Mesabi students whose eventual goal is to get a four-year degree may take part in Mesabi’s academics, which include: * Art * Business * History * Music * Philosophy * Sociology Pre-professional majors are also available in both law and medicine. Mesabi students in these and other transfer majors are guaranteed entry at various University of Minnesota and Minnesota State University campuses. Mesabi’s tuition is reduced for Minnesota residents. Still, those who need financial aid may apply for loans, grants, scholarships and work-study awards. To do this, applicants will need to submit a FAFSA. Financial aid counselors and the Department of Education then review the FAFSA and determine an applicant’s financial aid eligibility. For admissions to Mesabi, applicants must submit an application along with a fee. They must also submit transcripts or a copy of their GED.
