McHenry County College (MCC) in Crystal Lake, Illinois offers a range of educational and degree programs for residents of McHenry and adjacent counties. For students who wish to transfer to a four-year school, MCC offers several associate’s degree programs in the arts, sciences, engineering and fine arts. Some of these may also be undertaken through distance or online study. Occupational degrees and certificates are another educational option available at McHenry. Students in these programs undertake training in a specific field which, upon graduation, could lead directly to employment. These occupational programs include various fields ranging from nursing to accounting. McHenry has numerous other course options. These encompass everything from non-credit personal enrichment courses to shortened professional education options. Continuing and basic adult education divisions offering GED-preparation and basic skills courses are also available. For adults over 50, McHenry has the RAP Program, which offers classes in everything from cooking to computers.
