Maimonides Medical Center is the largest hospital in Brooklyn. An independent teaching hospital, Maimonides is at the forefront of innovative medicine. They are one of only 26 hospitals in the nation to achieve outstanding patient outcomes in all three categories measured by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services: heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. They are a “Top 10” hospital in all three categories. Their Surgery Department has experts in all major surgical sub-specialties. Their Cardiac, Neuro, Thoracic, Urologic and Orthopedic divisions are recognized as among the best in the US. Their Children’s Hospital provides all major subspecialties and includes a Pediatric ER, a Pediatric ICU and an advanced Neonatal ICU, with mortality rates significantly lower than the national average. More babies are delivered annually at Maimonides than at any other hospital in New York State.
