Jefferson College

A popular source for a public, two-year education in Jefferson County, Missouri, Jefferson College is a place for county residents to obtain career training or an academic foundation before transferring to a four-year school. Located in the county seat of Hillsboro, Jefferson College offers over 30 career programs, in such fields as Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Nursing and Veterinary Science. Jefferson College students who wish to move on to a four-year school may choose one of Jefferson’s associate’s degree programs, leading to four-year transfer primarily in the liberal arts and sciences. As Jefferson County’s primary source of post-secondary education Jefferson College also provides training in basic education, such as GED-prep and ESL. For all of its students, regardless of their level or their career or educational goals, Jefferson College offers comprehensive student services. These include career and educational counseling and supportive programs for financially and otherwise challenged students. Viking Woods, Jefferson’s on-campus apartment complex, gives students the convenient option of living near their classes.
