The INPI is to promote economic development by its actions promoting innovation: registration and grant of industrial property rights (patents, trademarks and designs, Soleau envelopes); receipt and processing of applications for geographical indications. The Institute welcomes and informs innovators, and assists them throughout their endeavors. It provides them with full legal and technical documentation through open access databases on patents, trademarks, designs, and the National Register of Commerce and Companies (SNCR) of which he is held . In everyday life, the INPI supports companies in the creation, development and optimization of their innovation strategy, through various training programs and dedicated products and services. It also launched an ambitious program of awareness and training in collaboration with its partners, the business community and the education sector. The INPI is working to develop industrial property in France and its influence in the world. Every year, for over 20 years, the INPI values ​​and rewards through its Rewards, innovative companies and research laboratories. INPI also plays a major role in the development of the law of industrial property and represents France in the relevant European and international bodies such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO) or the Office of the European Union for intellectual property (EUIPO). The Institute is a major relay of the fight against counterfeiting, in charge of the General Secretariat of the National Anti-Counterfeiting Committee (CNAC).
