Residents of Imperial County California seeking educational and career opportunities can find everything they want at Imperial Valley College. Located in the city of Imperial itself, Imperial Valley College has a host of educational and career training options. Designed both for those who wish to transfer and those seeking an immediate career Imperial Valley’s divisions consist of Liberal Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Engineering, Math, Allied Health and Education, among others. In addition, Imperial Valley has a Basic Skills division that provides ESL instruction and other services. Community classes are also available for those who wish to gain personal enrichment, upgrade skills or just learn something new. Services at Imperial Valley provide support for veterans and disabled students as well as career development, personal counseling, academic advising and skills assessment. Imperial Valley even has learning options for those outside the region. Its distance education courses allow students to pursue a program of study from anywhere at any time. Since it has an open admissions policy, anyone with a high school diploma or GED may register for most of Imperial Valley’s courses and programs. Tuition is significantly lower for California residents and financial aid is awarded to those who qualify.
