Group Health Cooperative

Group Health Cooperative is a member-governed, non-profit healthcare organization that coordinates care and coverage. The organization offers health plans for individuals and families; state and federal employees; and employers such as small and large groups including employer-sponsored group plans. It also provides various specialty care services at its medical centers in contracted hospitals; and healthcare, pharmacy, and drug formulary services. In addition, Group Health Cooperative conducts non-proprietary public-interest research on preventing, diagnosing, and treating major health problems in the areas of aging and geriatrics, health services and economics, alternative approaches to healing, healthy communities, behavior change, medication use and patient safety, biostatistics, mental health, cancer, obesity, cardiovascular health, preventive medicine, child and adolescent health, vaccines and infectious diseases, chronic illness management, women’s health, and health informatics. Group Health Cooperative was founded in January 1947 and is based in Seattle, Washington with administrative offices in Tukwila, Bellingham, Spokane, Tacoma, and Kennewick, Washington.
