The Fernfachhochschule Schweiz (FFHS) provides a federally recognized university of applied sciences with part-time bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The organization involves in research and development and offers students with study guides, information, and advice. It offers companies with company colleges, research services, think tank studies, seminars and workshops, and more. The organization’s courses are aimed at working adults who want to manage time for employment, family, and studies. It offers courses under the faculties of business management, legal, computer science, technology and engineering, teaching and e-learning, and health. The Fernfachhochschule Switzerland operates regional centers in Zurich, Basel, Bern, and Brig. It provides Fachhochschule courses combined with distance learning options in the name of ''blended learning'' methodology. Its practice-oriented courses are 80% based on self-studies: students are given all the relevant teaching materials and the login to access the online learning platform with various forms of e-learning technologies such as online quizzes, forums, and multimedia; and 20% based on classrooms: every two weeks on Saturday students meet up with their class for face-to-face lessons and discuss about common practical case studies. Since 2004, the FFHS is affiliated with the Scuola Universitaria Professionale della Svizzera Italiana (SUPSI) and operates as a part of school integrated into the overall strategy of SUPSI. The Fernfachhochschule Schweiz was founded in 1998 and is based in Brig, Valais, Switzerland.
