FAMAE is the company of military products in Chile, sustainer of the needs of national defense for more than two centuries and a pioneer in the development of advanced technologies in products and services, both military and civilian use. All this has made FAMAE an important asset for economic and social development. Since 1811, it is the oldest defense company in Latin America. FAMAE specializes in research projects and Weapon System Modernization. Its prestige lies in the expertise of its 208 years of existence, consolidated path through serious work and grounded in trained and specialized human resources. Also, the quality of its products, the result of processes certified under the international standard ISO 9001, and its constant adaptation to new scenarios, where research, innovation and development are part of the strategic objectives of this defense company. These features allow FAMAE offer a wide range of products and services, which mainly rely on the maintenance of weapons systems, aimed at sustaining the battleship material. For this Factories and Arsenals of the Army has five Industrial Maintenance Centers throughout the country: Arica, Pozo Almonte, Antofagasta, Talagante and Punta Arenas. Also, it has an extensive portfolio of products developed and manufactured, highlighting smaller caliber weapons, submachine guns and assault rifles for tactical use, as well as all maintenance thereof. Similarly, production has less ammunition, demilitarized and recovery more ammunition, manufacturing and certification service life extension of rockets and missiles.
