Fairmont State University

Known to many as “the college on the hill,” Fairmont State University (located on a scenic hillside in West Virginia) has been educating students for over a century. The university’s main campus is located in Fairmont, but there is also a branch campus in Clarksburg (the Gaston Caperton Center). FSU has a partnership with Pierpont Community and Technical College in order to offer its students more extensive academic offerings. FSU has an array of bachelor’s and master’s degrees in areas like Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Entrepreneurial Studies, Graphics Technology, and Nursing. It is recognized for its comprehensive programs in aviation education, and is within close proximity to the Robert C. Byrd National Aerospace Education Center. Beyond academics, FSU is full of college life opportunities: * Campus activities * Athletic teams * Charitable events * Clubs and societies * Fitness and wellness programs * Fraternities and sororities * Mentoring programs * Student government * Summer day camps Admissions requirements include: enrollment application (fee may apply), official transcripts, and standardized test scores (ACT or SAT). The school encourages all applicants to apply for financial aid as well. Though financial aid is not guaranteed, the majority of students who attend the school are receiving some form of financial assistance. Tuition fees are reduced for those who are state residents.
