The school believes that a liberal arts education is one of the best tools to prepare students for a fruitful career or further education. Regardless of your degree program, ECSU requires all students to complete an interdisciplinary, liberal arts core curriculum. ECSU’s academics reflect a wide variety of disciplines, some of which include: * History and Social Sciences * English and American Studies * Sports and Leisure Management * Biochemistry * Environmental Earth Science If you cannot find a degree that meets your needs, ECSU offers students the opportunity to design their own bachelor’s program, with either an arts or science concentration. College life at ECSU is full of opportunity and excitement. Its renowned Arts and Lecture series invites many world-class entertainers and speakers to expose you to cultural, social and artistic endeavors. If you want to get involved on campus, you can join one of ECSU’s many student organizations, with interests that range from professional development to community service to student government to special interests like LGBT pride or photography. Students from Connecticut and states in the New England Residential Student Program—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Rhode Island—pay reduced tuition costs.
