At Hesston College in Hesston, Kansas, learning is an integrated experience. Whether majoring in an academic, artistic or professional subject area, all students spend the first half of their college experience taking classes that contribute to their development as Christians, while nurturing critical thinking and communication skills. A small, Mennonite Christian school, Hesston also offers students a memorable college experience of fellowship and friendship. Hesston offers associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, primarily in professional fields, though there are also several majors in academic and creative disciplines. Majors include: * Bible and Ministry * Business * Disaster Management * Engineering * Marketing * Social Work * Music * Visual Arts There are also several pre-professional degrees for those preparing for advanced degrees in Dentistry and Medicine. Bachelor’s degree candidates spend their first two years taking courses outside their major. These courses build the spiritual, intellectual and interpersonal foundation needed to succeed in one’s major. Spirituality is an important feature of Hesston College. Through fellowship, Bible study, ministry and other spiritual activities, students get to know each other better while expanding their faith. Admissions requirements include submission of an application, transcripts or GED scores, recommendation letters and SAT or ACT scores for applicants who are 21 years old or younger. Hesston works with students to provide them with financial aid to help with tuition costs. Partaking in federal aid programs, Hesston awards federal grants and loans. Hesston will also help students who are not eligible for federal aid or still require additional help to find and apply for private loans. Scholarships are another source of aid and are usually based on an applicant’s GPA or test scores. Many eligible students receive financial aid packages that combine aid from these different sources.
