The university maintains a Catholic identity and embraces the responsibility for the pursuit of truth about humans, the world in which we live and God. To encourage this pursuit, the university offers campus ministry programs that promote Christian humanism in the student body. Participating in prayer services on campus is as accessible as getting involved in community social justice programs. Although the university has a faith commitment, you do not have to be of religious background to attend. In a religious sense or not, student life at the university is dedicated to developing your total character: emotionally, academically and socially. Your first-year experience includes the Character U program, which aims to smooth the transition from high school to college. As a first-year student, you’ll be assigned a peer mentor, who is a valuable resource for your needs and concerns. The Character U program also provides: monthly guest speakers, national and international trips, service opportunities and academic development programs to help you be the best person you can be. To reinforce this, students can design their own major. Academics include more than 30 majors, but you have the freedom and flexibility to mix and match interdisciplinary interests to create a program just for you. The admissions process determines applicants on their past academic achievement and potential for growth. To apply, simply complete an application and submit your high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores. Whether you’re a resident or commuter or you live off-campus, tuition rates are the same. When you apply for admission, you’ll be automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. For additional forms of financial aid, you must file a FAFSA.
