Graduate students at any juncture of life can find the opportunities they need to further their education at CUNY Graduate School and University Center. Located in New York City, New York, CUNY allows easy access to one of the most culturally and artistically rich cities in the U.S. With one of the most diverse student bodies in any American graduate institute, students explore opportunities unimaginable in most universities, and, unlike many graduate colleges, CUNY also offers housing, affordable child care and medical coverage to its students. Students can pursue their doctorate or master’s degree within nearly 40 program options. Academics are offered in standard or unique specializations, including Urban Education, Music, Journalism, Theatre, History and Audiology. Admissions require that applicants have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution whose requirements for completion are similar to those of the City University. Applicants must also complete the prerequisites necessary for their program, submit valid intention to carry out research and be approved by their program’s admissions committee for entrance. Applicants must complete the online application form, as well as mail in two letters of recommendation from faculty members, an official college or university transcript and scores for the Graduate Record Examination General Test, if applicable. Tuition rates for students vary based on residency and student status. For students seeking financial aid, opportunities are available to those who qualify in the form of federal financial aid programs and institutional support. Students should fill out a FAFSA and review academic merit programs to see if they qualify.
