College Of The Desert

College of the Desert earned its name from its Palm Desert, California location, among the palm trees and blue skies. In two years, students can earn a certificate or associate’s degree and be ready for a career or transfer. Among the programs you can study are Agriculture, GED, Architecture, Automotive Technology, Business, Culinary Arts, Education, Emergency Medical Technician, Health Sciences, Journalism, Science, and Theatre Arts. For all of your financial concerns, the financial aid office has information on specific scholarships, loans, grants, and work-study for eligible students and the deadlines to earn this aid to help pay for tuition, books, and other expenses. The student services offered by CotD only add to the college environment. There is an academic skills center, bookstore, computer labs, counseling, health center, transfer center and a rich student life, which includes clubs and a student government. The career center is prepared to help its students find post-graduation employment with their career assessment, employment development, job fair, job search workshops and study skill resources, as well as a virtual career center that can help you get hired with tips and job searching.
