If you are unsure of what career path you want to take, the Cabrillo College in Aptos, California, offers plenty of two-year programs to help you discover, and achieve, your professional goals. Before applying, you will work individually with a Cabrillo counselor to identify your interests and strengths, as well as potential career options. You will also be required to take a placement exam prior to classes to make sure that you are on the right path. Cabrillo maintains an open admissions policy so that more California students can utilize their skills to assist the Californian workforce. There is also no application fee. Academics at Cabrillo consist of associate’s degrees, certificates and diploma programs. The school offers a wide spectrum of disciplines, including: * Accounting and Finance * Horticulture * Oceanography * Sign Language Studies * World Languages Cabrillo offers many study abroad and internship opportunities for students who want to apply their education out in the world. To enhance your college life, Cabrillo has many student government chapters and special interest organizations. You can meet like-minded students in clubs like Sustainability Initiatives, Secular Student Alliance and the Bike Co-op, or you can join a professional group like Student Affairs or the Student Senate. California residents who are over the age of 19 and have lived in the state for at least one year receive discounted tuition costs. All students may apply for Cabrillo financial aid by filing a FAFSA. Qualifying students may receive assistance from the California Dream Act, grants, loans and work-study programs.
