Part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, Buffalo State College offers over 150 undergraduate and 60 graduate programs in the arts, sciences, education, and professional studies, among others. One of Buffalo’s more impressive degree offerings is the interdisciplinary study option. Through interdisciplinary studies, students may combine two or more fields. For example, the bachelor’s degree program in Television and Film Arts integrates Theatre Arts, Communications and English Literature. Another interdisciplinary program is the Arts and Letters degree, which studies various forms of human creative expression through visual, literary and other modes. Buffalo State students may even design their own major through the Individualized Studies program. Other programs of study include such distinctive and specific subject-areas as Art Conservation and Fashion and Textile Design. Buffalo State also has programs in more traditional fields of academic and professional study such as Teacher-Education, Electrical Engineering and Journalism. Learning centers and institutes, such as the Center for China Studies, are another unique and dynamic feature of a Buffalo State education. Student services at Buffalo State are also comprehensive and include a career center, minority services, disability support, and numerous cultural offerings such as an impressive performing arts center and an on-campus museum. Buffalo State provides numerous sources of financial aid to eligible students, including scholarships, grants, loans and fellowships and assistantships for graduate students.
