Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary

The Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas, provides theoretical and practical education to students looking to prepare for the ministry. The aim of the seminary is to provide an environment that fosters higher learning and spiritual devotion. Student life offers many opportunities for students to become involved with religious committees, student council and worshipping events. Internships in fields of missions, pastoral worship and religious education are offered during the summer. Academics include a full range of degrees, from associate’s of divinity to a bachelor’s of arts in Religion to master’s degrees in Church Ministries and Divinity. A certificate in Christian Leadership is also offered. Admissions require students to complete an application and submit three letters of recommendation, official transcripts, a certificate of church approval, and admission questionnaire and Spiritual Gift inventory. Students applying to the associate’s of Divinity degree must be at least 30 years old. Student housing located adjacent to the campus is available, but not required. Forms of housing are apartments and duplexes. Undergraduate students demonstrating financial need may be eligible to receive financial aid through Pell grants. To qualify, students must complete a FAFSA. All students at the school are assisted by the churches of the Baptist Missionary Association of America through scholarships.
