The Joint Product Lead Office—Enabling Biotechnologies (JPL-EB) intends to streamline medical countermeasure development by adopting platform technologies that counter a broad spectrum of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threat agents using standardized discovery, design, manufacturing, and testing processes.

Interdisciplinary Scientist & Project Officer supporting the Influenza and Emerging Infectious Diseases Division (IEIDD) at BARDA. IEIDD uses a comprehensive portfolio approach to develop and acquire a broad array of medical countermeasures for pandemic influenza and emerging infectious diseases. This includes efforts to accelerate and improve the development of vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics, and non-pharmaceutical countermeasures for influenza preparedness and to establish a sustainable end-to-end solution for vaccine domestic manufacturing infrastructure.

Independent planning, management, and execution of assigned projects involving in vitro systems and animals (AALAS small animals certified,NHP certified). Assisting in experimental design and data analaysis of assays. Position requires the use of strong technical skills in molecular and cellular biology. Laboratory work in multiple biosafety levels.Position relies on the testing, optimization, and validation of assays to detect and quantify virus, utilizaing many immunology/virology procedures. Perform multiple procedures to support the manufacture and testing of therapeutic proteins and other biological products (Experience running / maintaining Bioreactors). Documentation, analysis, and interpretation of experiments as well as the presentation of results in both written and oral formats.
