* Supported the operation of small-scale (400 to 2,000 Nm3/h) and high purity (up to 1 ppb) cryogenic Generated Gas and Electronics plants across Europe. * Accomplishments: * Closed circuit cooling water system retrofit. * On plants with closed circuit cooling water systems, heat is rejected to ambient air by means of finned-fan heat exchangers. Designed and costed a solution reducing fouling on these heat exchangers, to improve performance and efficiency. * Oil removal system upgrade * Upgrade oil removal system on plants with oil-flooded screw compressors. These feed into downstream lines with high oxygen content - where carry-over of oil could have significant safety and process implications. * Operating Plant Hazard Review * Safety review similar to HAZOP (extended scope) of an oxygen plant. * Other activities included the following: * Troubleshooted plant problems; * Maintained databases of current plant assets; * Implemented calculations for plant Key Performance Indicators; * Generated P&ID change notes

The Customer Plant Support (CPS) group at Air Products offers a range of after-sales services, such as Plant Assessments, Operations & Maintenance packages, spare parts, and Technical Service agreements. My responsibilities spanned the project life cycle; and included writing up proposals and obtaining approval for funding, right through to project execution and invoicing. Projects ranged in size from ~$15,000 to over $800,000. Key skills I employed were communication, time management, prioritisation and pro-activeness.

* Part Time) Insurance Administrator - in charge of maintaining building insurance cover across property portfolio. General property management; advertising vacant properties, move-in/move out procedures, protecting deposits, recovering rent, management of maintenance issues, maintaining Gas Safe cover, initiating court proceedings for eviction. I used CFP winMan software for property management, and Editor for property advertising.

* Provided technical support for cryogenic equipment including tanks, valves, piping manifolds, and vaporisers. * Accomplishments: * Bespoke design of a liquid nitrogen vehicle to support the expansion of the micro-bulk business in Eastern Europe. This included safety reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance review. * Technical / safety investigation into loss of hydrogen from 500 bar tube trailer. Worked with OEM suppliers to develop and implement a working solution. * Incident investigation into failure of temperature control equipment.

* Regulatory role overlooking safety in transport of hazardous materials (Dangerous Goods). * Working on behalf of the Secretary of State for Transport, the VCA Dangerous Goods Office is responsible for the appointment of accredited inspection bodies (AIBs) for the inspection of tanks and transportable pressure receptacles in accordance with UK, EU and international regulations. * Responsibilities: * Monitor and audit AIB activity * Investigate safety non-compliances * Provide advice and guidance to industry and government departments on the application of the Transport of Dangerous Goods regulations; * Achievements: * Engineering evaluation of technical applications for exemptions from regulations * Contributed to regulatory framework, via participation in British Standards Institute (BSI) Technical Committee
