Co-Founder, Head Of Translational StrategyArbor Biotechnologies Feb 2017 - PresentCambridge, Massachusetts, UsWe are entering an era where lifelong treatments for serious genetic diseases will be made possible with genome editing. But to enable this in the fullest way for patients requires a broader set of genomic tools (i.e., more instruments for the genome surgeon) than currently exist. At Arbor, we've built an unrivaled portfolio of genome editors under one roof, all powered by a team that is as amazing as our science: collaborative, creative, driven, and hilarious. We care a lot about what we do and about each other. If this feels like a place you'd like to work, reach out to me — we're always looking for great folks to join us.

Founding President, Board Member, VolunteerN=1 Collaborative Dec 2021 - PresentSomerville, Ma, UsThe therapeutic technology now exists to create custom, individualized treatments for patients with ultra rare diseases — ones too rare for traditional drug development. Hundreds of millions around the world are affected by these disorders in aggregate, even if they are individually rare. But we need a shared playbook to achieve the best outcomes for patients and iteratively learn. The N=1 Collaborative (N1C) is a nonprofit that serves as a hub to share best practices, data, and collective learnings, all to accelerate the development of custom, individualized treatments for undeserved patients worldwide. Our work starts with antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs), but is ultimately agnostic to the therapeutic platform. Please reach out if you're interested in working to build treatments for the 'long tail' of rare disease.

Graduate StudentBroad Institute Of Mit And Harvard Jun 2012 - Feb 2017Cambridge, Ma, UsMy PhD focused on solving translational challenges for CRISPR genome editing: - Enabled early in vivo applications of CRISPR technologies (via a smaller Cas9 and AAV vectors)- Developed enhanced assays for genome editing safety, and- Discovered new proteins to expand the therapeutic utility of the CRISPR toolbox. To enable others to better use CRISPR technologies, I led planning & programming of the Genome Engineering 3.0 & 4.0 workshops attended by over 450 scientists, representing 300+ labs and 22 companies.
