In my current role at Valley Springs Middle School, I am an 8th grade Social Studies teacher after teaching English Language Arts for 4 years. It is my goal to use the Social Studies classroom to engage students in historical exploration while also building literacy skills in conjunction with the ELA curriculum. Worked with the CEO to plan, develop and direct the marketing efforts for local businesses, with a heavy focus on multimedia, including video, animation, and web design.

Developed, documented, implemented and evaluated all phases of the Certified ChiRunning and ChiWalking Instructor programs, including Instructor recruitment, communication, recertification, and management. Also oversaw all details of event management for ChiLiving Inc, including 10-15 annual workshops throughout the U.S. and abroad, a one-week holistic retreat, the bi-annual all-Instructor Weekend retreat, speaking engagements for the Boston and Chicago Marathons, and 3-4 annual Instructor Training workshops. From April 2015 until March 2019, I was a freelance contributor to the Biltmore Beacon (Asheville, NC) & The Mountaineer (Waynesville, NC) with a focus on human interest pieces and local tourism via a monthly hiking column. During this time, I was also contracted to complete freelance writing for local businesses and marketing campaigns under Ridge Top Writing.

Worked with the Executive Director to plan and implement individual and corporate fundraising programs to increase donor retention, cultivate new donors, increase relationship-building with local businesses, and to supplement overall organizational capacity building and sustainability - in addition to increasing visibility of the organization through marketing and media management in Buncombe, Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania Counties.
