I am happily retired from my former profession as a public library director and library science educator. While I retain an interest in libraries and higher education, my attention has shifted to the arts, specifically to painting in watercolor. I'm still very much a beginner, and enjoy greatly the creative and meditative aspects of using this very challenging medium. As a sideline I also work occasionally as a pet sitter, caring for dogs and cats when their owners are away. Other pursuits include foreign and domestic travel, following current affairs, volunteering with Amnesty International, and reading detective fiction with foreign or historical settings. Show less
