Motiv Power Systems frees fleets from fossil fuels. More specifically, design, build, and sell battery electric vehicles (EVs) that enable commercial fleet customers to move from internal combustion-powered medium duty (class 4-6) stepvans, trucks and buses to zero-emission versions without giving up performance and usability. Produced and supported FedEx Ground, Cintas, Bimbo, Purolator, Aramark, and USPS vans, plus a variety of corporate and airport people-mover shuttles for millions of miles, often the first fully working EVs in those fleets.

AREPA's tagline is "Restoring confidence in your equipment." After damage caused by fire, water, smoke, lightning, or saltwater corrosion, AREPA's experts are called in to preserve and restore industrial and technical equipment before further damage happens from neglect and corrosion. AREPA can restore equipment from data centers to medical bays to locomotives and manufacturing lines, returning the equipment to working condition with manufacturer's warranties put back in place faster and cheaper than replacing the equipment.

Dodge and Chrysler muscle cars -- what a rich history and amazing products!For three years, I managed the shop behind shopHEMI.com, a premier web site for add-ons and upgrades to the Gen III HEMI V8s that are in the top-of-the-line Dodge cars and trucks. We manufactured 100's of built-up HEMI engines every year and installed these performance packages and more into late-model cars and trucks. A supercharged 700HP Challenger that you can drive to work every day? No problem. A 1000HP race car? -- done. This company was acquired in 2017 by an industry insider.

Magnuson makes superchargers for automotive OEM and aftermarket. GM, Toyota, Chrysler, Audi, Lotus platforms and more -- this crew has adapted Eaton-based TVS superchargers to more car types than anyone else. My role evolved, from CIO to managing the supply chain, to ISO/TS Quality, to managing engineering, to operations. It is a small, dynamic company and it was rewarding to get to know it in so many roles. American manufacturing is not dead yet (Python reference). It is an exciting, always-changing business. And the products are fun -- you just need to drive a Magnuson-equipped car once to become a believer.

Freight Zone devloped online tools to help freight shippers maintain tighter and more productive working relationships with their most important vendors, truck carriers. Better data sharing leads to better choices, lower rates, less hassle, and fewer phone calls. We debuted this product in the middle of the biggest freight recession in recorded history. The company unfortunately did not survive the recession. Since then, Convoy seems to have picked up the ball in this category.

Responsible for Finance, Internal Systems, and IT for a nationwide refrigerated trucking firm. At the time, Gemini operated 300 trucks out of locations in NJ, IL, GA, TX and CA.

Started Round Lake Freight from scratch when I bought my first Freightliner. Registered as an interstate trucking company and grew to 15 trucks and trailers with 16 employees. Sold the company to Gemini Traffic Sales to become their Chicago terminal to add to NJ, CA, TX and GA locations.

Managed software development teams working on projects for cell phone networks (WAP, Java, etc). Included banking, restaurant, sports, entertainment, messaging, and location-aware applications.

Founding CEO of Parlano, a spin-out software technology from UBS Warburg investment bank. On behalf of the investor, divine Interventures, created the founding infrastructure with transferred bank employees and new hires. Set up the company with an initial $15M investment, created the new brand and took it through the first few sales. The only divine-created company to survive divine's bankruptcy. Microsoft purchased Parlano in 2007.

Spin-off from Hyperfeed Technologies in the financial information services space. Short-lived Internet company with good products and bad timing.

Learned a lot about doing more with a small budget -- keep all of the networks and computers working, provide advice and expertise to researchers, curators, and archivists. And survive Y2K.

Co-Founder and member of the executive team. Board member, 1993-1999. Spyglass licensed and further developed the first commercial versions of Mosaic, the original World-Wide-Web browser from the University of Illinois. It was licensed to Microsoft as the basis for Internet Explorer. Spyglass went public in 1995 (SPYG) in the first wave of internet companies to go public.
