Responsible for wide range of activities promoting RAF image and reputation to the public via the media, both reactively and proactively. Advising RAF personnel at all levels on media aspects of current issues, arranging facilities, escorting media parties at home and overseas, both in operational and non-operational environment. Deployments on operations included Saudi Arabia, Kurdistan and Somalia, while exercise or press familiarisation visits or NATO functions included Falklands, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, Alaska, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Ascension Island, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Germany. Ran Press Information Centre on NATO Exercise Co-Operative Bear at RAF St Mawgan, and was joint head of PIC the following year in Poland. UK Media Adviser on NATO Exercise Baltic Link, Sweden, 2000. Ran media facilities at high profile events such as return of body of HRH Princess of Wales to RAF Northolt, when 300 media handled. Assisted with VE and VJ Day commemorations. Organised numerous RAF facilities promoting introduction of new capabilities, aircraft retirements, unit anniversaries, closures and disbandments. Primary media organiser for Royal Visits. Participated in numerous Nuclear Accident Response exercises, usually as part of SIMPRESS team. Represented RAF PR at regular HQ 2 Div exercise planning conferences in Edinburgh. Assisted with RAF Low Flying information display trailer at numerous country shows in North of England. Regular attendee at RIAT and Farnborough Air Shows. Accompanied RAF Mobile News Team on a number of deployments to cover exercise activity. Responsible for PR gifts budget procuring items for public events and supporting RAF display teams.
