This includes an ongoing monitoring of the state's Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) to ensure proper provider reimbursement, and key performance indicators for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Without her efforts to fix the MMIS to reflect policy intent, millions of dollars would have been inappropriately allocated to Colorado's Medicaid providers. As the only person in the department who has an understanding of the data for this new program, these insights fell solely on her shoulders. Sydney and the other members of the EVV team won the department-wide award for "Team of the Year" in 2019-2020, out of dozens of other teams who were nominated.
