• Leads team of 15 individuals in the effective management of operations. • Supports location manager in serving as locations contact with other departments. • Coordinates tactical plan objectives at local level. • Manages customer complaints until issue resolution is reached. • Sets individual performance measurements for staff and holds them accountable. • Management responsibilities include coaching, managing, hiring, orienting and evaluating. • Councils and interprets policies and procedures. • Prepares and manages aspects of location budget. • Performs other duties as assigned including serving on task forces, committees.• Gathering data, analyzing community needs, and creating yearly youth services plan. • Planning and presenting weekly storytime, play group, and special programs. • Coordinating services to 15 area childcare centers and 10 local schools.

• Maintaining relationships and providing services to schools, childcare facilities, and other community organizations.• Developing and implementing a wide variety of adult, teen and children’s programs. • Gathering data, analyzing community needs, and creating yearly youth services plan. • Maintaining juvenile collections and creating displays. • Recruiting, interviewing, training, and delegating tasks to volunteers and interns. Resolving conflicts between teen volunteers and staff, monitoring the quality of work, and taking corrective action as needed.• Providing reference and reader’s advisory services to patrons of all ages. • Leading MLK staff in system-wide “Ready to Read” initiative. Disseminating Ready to Read information to all MLK staff and served on Ready to Read committee selecting items for kits.• Providing excellent customer service in matters pertaining to customer accounts, including issues related to fines, library cards, damaged/missing items, etc. Fielding questions and complaints and documenting incident reports.•Working regularly with the following technologies: Microsoft Office products, Volgistics, Polaris, Smart Money Manager, Envisionware, iMac Software, Know it Now chat software, PVSNet Website.
