ACT/SAT prep, Biology, AP Physics and AP Calculus tutor

In the lab of Dr. Hugo Bellen, I am currently using reverse genetics and CRISPR/cas9 gene editing technology to explore the protein function of a gene known to cause Combined Oxidative Phosphorylation Deficiency 11. I will use data on mitochondrial activity and morphology, protein localization, and both genetic and physical interactions in order to further understand the molecular mechanism behind how the loss of this gene causes mitochondrial translation defects.

Assisted Dr. Michael Gustin in facilitating discussion between students on important test topic and grading students’ research papers on various inheritance-linked diseases.

Worked with the Dr. Kathleen Beckingham lab to further define the phenotypes of hypoxia and develop an effective assay to quantify burrowing habits of D. Melanogaster larvae.

Assisted the Owl football, tennis, track and swimming athletic trainers in taping, stretching and injury-specific rehabilitation paths
