Serve as counsel advising on a range of legal and business matters with a global scope including hardware and software product, regulatory compliance, risk assessment and mitigation, government relations, policy, and data privacy.

I served as counsel for the City of New York on wide range of matters including regulatory compliance, drafting and review of transactional documents, negotiation and settlement of disputes, and analyzing legal considerations and mitigating risk for various city-wide initiatives and programs.I also represented the City in defensive litigation, including handling briefing and oral argument on dispositive motions, discovery motions, preliminary injunctions, and appellate emergency applications; handling evidentiary hearings; and developing litigation strategy. On the affirmative litigation side, I represent the City in multistate Clean Air Act and Energy Policy and Conservation Act litigation in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, Ninth Circuit, and Second Circuit.

I developed and directed NYLPI's Community Energy Program, which provides a range of legal services support for renewable energy development and compliance with energy and environmental regulations:(1) transactional legal services to community-based organizations that are developing clean energy projects, including development of business and governance models, entity formation, navigation of regulatory and permitting processes, drafting and negotiating of various legal documents (leases, access agreements, EPCs, PPAs), and assisting with financing models (primarily partnership flip), and assisting with tax equity investment and debt financing. (2) regulatory advocacy on the state and local levels related to grid reliability, energy rate setting proceedings, and the large-scale deployment of renewables and distributed energy resources.(3) development of model frameworks, documents, guides, and workshop curricula and materials to support education, training, and awareness around community solar, state and city energy related policy, and project development fundamentals.

I worked primarily on litigation related to the enforcement of New York State environmental, consumer protection and securities laws. This work included drafting demand letters, pleadings, motions and other litigation documents addressing violations of environmental laws in New York as well as conducting legal research and writing legal memoranda on range of environmental and consumer protection issues facing the public.

I worked within NRDC's New York Program, a regionally focused group that undertakes litigation, policy advocacy on issues relevant to New York City and State. My work included conducting legal research and writing memoranda on range of environmental issues in New York including municipal and county-level legal action against hydraulic fracturing and hazardous waste disposal. I also contributed to developing strategies to reform the natural gas pipeline approval process. Finally, my work also included conducting research on policy and litigation addressing recycling and waste management in New York City.

Conducted extensive legal research and wrote legal memoranda on a range of civil and criminal cases for a First Circuit judge.

I primarily worked with the Healthy Communities and Environmental Justice (HCEJ) and the Clean Energy and Climate Change (CECC) program groups within CLF. I assisted attorneys with high-impact environmental litigation including conducting in-depth legal research and writing of memoranda and briefs. I also worked on transportation issues including researching and promoting strategies for increased scope of public transit, bike use and walking. I also assisted with policy work on projects within CLF's Farm and Food Initiative.

As a project manager at New Ecology I had a project load of approximately 12-15 projects at any given time at various stages in the development process. I worked on projects from the early design stage through construction and tenant occupancy and operations. My work as a project manager specifically included:•Managing multi-disciplinary project teams on large-scale multi-family affordable housing projects to facilitate meeting sustainability goals, earn green certifications and comply with regulatory and financing mandates.•Assisted with the development and financing of renewable energy projects, typically involving the negotiation of power purchase agreements.•Providing design technical assistance, construction phase coordination, contractor trainings, and compliance and documentation services from the early design phase through construction and operations on fifteen projects. •Ushering a number of projects green certification programs including LEED for New Construction, LEED for Homes, LEED for Neighborhood Development, and Enterprise Green Communities.•Consulting to local policymaking entities on promotion of sustainability practices through legislation and assisted in the implementation of green building policies on affordable housing projects in the city of Boston.•Participating in a variety of public outreach opportunities including speaking engagements and public meetings to bring awareness and build expertise around sustainability in the affordable housing context.

I assisted project managers in day-to-day management and coordination with design and construction teams by conducting plan and specifications reviews and research on green products and technologies. I facilitated green certifications through completion and tracking of documentation and prepared materials for and participated in community green design charrettes. I also assisted in writing grant applications to obtain project funds from state and federal agencies including HUD.

I assisted with documentation to demonstrate compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations as well as completed documentation for green certifications through the U.S. Green Building Council. I also conducted significant research and memo writing on sustainable real estate development practices and policies.

I facilitated the implementation of a large-scale utility-funded energy efficiency grant program for multifamily low-income housing in Massachusetts through management of a team conducting energy usage analysis in the existing building stock and assisting with identifying retrofit opportunities in this housing sector. I also worked closely with the software development team to improve user interface for utilities and property manager clients and worked on business development opportunities for this category of clients as well.

I conducted research on influenza transmission, particularly the role of social distancing and hygiene, in a pandemic to formulate public health recommendations for containment and mitigation for state and federal planning efforts. Research culminated in a publication in the AMA Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness journal, December 2011 issue.

I conducted a program evaluation of the T3 tramway line in southern Paris and the Velib bicycle share program in Paris, including assessing environmental, economic and community impacts.
