● As a computer lab instructor I am responsible for instruction and lessons that are conducted in the computer lab classroom for grades spanning K-4. I maintain daily lesson plans for effective instruction and targeted learning for each student in my class. I do my best to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. In order to accomplish this I create an environment where student feedback is important in modeling a working environment. I also celebrate student creativity and exploration to support the respect of their own learning.● Specifically students learn the foundation of Microsoft products, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint along with Google Docs, and Google Presentation. ● I assist classroom teachers in teaching certain standards that can apply to the computer lab setting, such as publishing works and typing standards. I sometimes through these assignments help the teachers with the grading process. I also often provide before and after school tutoring for students who are in need of help to achieve reading and writing goals.● Additionally, I am CPI certified for my building and from time to time I am asked to escort, or help subdue a child who could potentially hurt others, or themselves. ● I am a first line support for building staff and teachers in helping troubleshoot and fix minor computer problems.● I serve on Willard Central's Lighthouse planning team. This team helps to oversee the implementation of The Leader in Me. Leader in Me is a school wide initiative that Willard Central is using in partnership with the Franklin Covey Foundation that helps not only educate students, but develop them as leaders within their school, family, and community. ● I attend professional development classes to better learn how to become an effective teacher.● I also serve as the website/social media administrator for the Willard Central Building.
