Led new business initiatives and led implementation of the acquisition of the #2 competitor, SunWize, including integration of the two companies operations.• TerraVia (TVIA) – served as Senior Advisor for Corporate Development on business and technology partnerships, acquisitions, and new financing approaches.

Served as Associate Director for Commercialization at the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) within US DOE. Founded and ran a "tech to market" program to help commercialize high-risk, high reward projects funded by ARPA-E to develop the next generation of energy technologies, including: batteries for electric vehicles, non-photosynthetic biofuels, grid-scale storage, carbon capture, power electronics, and efficient cooling. Also founded and ran the ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit and Technology Showcase for its first two years.

Served as Renewable Energy Grants Advisor for Recovery Act programs at U.S. DOE, helping to oversee $32.7 billion in Recovery Act funding for energy. Responsible for grant programs supporting renewable energy, electric vehicles, and battery manufacturing, as well as tax credit programs for renewable energy (Section 1603) and energy manufacturing (Section 48C).

Served as first Principal in the CleanTech Group at VantagePoint Capital Partners, which invested over $1 billion in companies involved in solar, electric vehicles, smart grid, biofuels, and green buildings, among other areas. Led investing efforts in the biofuels sector. Helped manage the firm's relationships with its 12 corporate strategic partners, which included BP, DuPont, Procter & Gamble, Best Buy, and PG&E.

Founding Principal of $80 million venture capital firm focused on clean technologies. Responsible for sourcing, screening and due diligence of prospective investments. Served as Board Observer for two portfolio companies. Involved in all areas of the firm's investment management, corporate development, and research.

Managed the financing of private sector power, transport, and environmental projects, including a $100 million water supply project in Indonesia and a $20 million shipping terminal in Mexico.

Served as lead analyst on consulting projects involving the privatization of state-owned enterprises and the financing of transportation and infrastructure projects in emerging markets.
