The California Child Care Resource & Referral Network promotes affordable, accessible quality care through research, education, policy, and advocacy. A Program Manager, I Initiated, developed, secured and maintained corporate partnerships and contracts that provided more than 250 corporate partners work/life training and programs through 59 satellite offices with key responsibilities including quality assurance, on- and off line training and benefits management for C-suite clients.

Provided strategic planning, coaching, facilitation, advising, and organizational development expertise to help clients in the public sector. The most robust example of this work is working with community stakeholders to develop large scale county-wide initiatives aimed at developing early childhood systems throughout the State of California as funded by First 5 organizations (First 5 Riverside, First 5 San Bernardino, First 5 LA) to build Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS).

The mission of First 5 San Mateo is to ensure that all children in San Mateo County will be emotionally, socially, and physically healthy, have a loving attachment to a parent or other caregiver, and live in an environment that promotes learning and development. As Program & Planning Director, I provided strategic vision and created a “System of Care” for San Mateo County children and families working closely with the San Mateo County Children and Families Commission as mandated by Proposition 10 funding. Developed and provided oversight of large scale initiatives including Preschool for All and School Readiness initiatives which included rigorous evaluation and accountability components.

FIRST 5 Santa Clara County supports the healthy development of children ages 0-5 and enriches the lives of their families and communities. As Director of Programs, I led the re-org effort of a $25 million organization with executive management staff, line staff and volunteers. Facilitated multiple community based partnerships that included public/private coalitions of stakeholders working to achieve collective impact through service integration, program development and collaborative systems change.

For over 25 years, the Mimi and Peter Haas Fund has supported programs that provide high quality early childhood education to low-income children in San Francisco through a mix of Trustee and staff-generated grant making activities. As Program Director, I spearheaded all grant-making activities in a multi-million dollar portfolio of grants working closely with foundation trustees and community based nonprofits to develop organizational as well as systems capacity in the early childhood education sector. Participated in developing policy including the development of the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Early Childhood Education.
