Over 16 1/2 years as a Product Development Engineer at Freudenberg Sealing Technologies Ltd, Damper & Steering within the Fluid Power division in the UK. I Design and Develop new Sealing Solutions as well as maintain existing product in many different sizes and applications. These include passive damper Twin Tube, high performance Mono Tube, heavy duty Struts, Air Spring and Bus + Truck in the Automotive Industry as well as Motorcycle Fork, Rail, Recreational, Lift Actuator systems and other niche components in low, medium and high volume.My role consists of; 2D/3D CAD, FEA Simulation, DFMEA, Design for Six Sigma - Supporter Certified (Black Belt equivalent), VA/VE, Material Development, Prototyping, Analysis/Testing and Reporting with a strong Customer Focus in Europe, Asia and North America. I have experience in Six Sigma (Green Belt), Risk Kaizen, Customer Centricity, Value Selling, PFMEA, and Lean (Yellow Belt). I work closely day to day with NPI, Validation, Marketing, Sales, Process, Quality and Manufacturing.I have graduated with a degree in BEng (Hons) Materials Engineering (2:2) from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle in 2002. After this I spent time working in refrigeration and the semi conductor industry before taking on my current role.
