Member of an in-house development team which included another front end developer and six Java developers. I built web interfaces based on designs provided by an external agency, integrating front-end code with server-side JSP, and developed intranet sites for internal clients using Rhythmyx CMS. The latter involved development of templates in XSLT, design and development of the user interface, and training of staff on the use of the CMS. Developing a responsive website for sports betting.

* This was an agency role which involved working in multidisciplinary teams on a variety of projects for clients including Marconi, Alliance Unichem (now Alliance Healthcare) and DBS Singapore. As a front end developer I built web interfaces based on graphical mockups from designers. One achievement was to learn a new templating language in order to customise an online discussion forum application (Webcrossing) in time to meet a challenging deadline. I built interfaces from design mock-ups and wireframes, ensuring conformance to W3C accessibility guidelines and cross-browser compatibility, integrating front end code with server side JSP. Worked in a team of UX designers and UI developers, in an agile environment, to implement a responsive redesign of William Hill's sports betting website. It involved working closely with the UX lead throughout the development process, assessing the design at different viewing resolutions in order to provide an optimal user experience across devices from mobile phones to desktop computers. * As a member of O2's development team, assisted in the migration of the O2 portal website to a new platform (from Vignette 5.6 to 7.1). Technologies: JSP, XHTML, CSS.

This was an agency role which involved working closely with designers and user experience architects to build web interfaces to tight deadlines for clients including BT, Vodafone and SAB Miller. Technologies: XHTML, XSLT, CSS, CVS.

* Role included: * Implementation of redesign of several web sites: coding of presentation layer in XHTML, CSS & JavaScript from design mock-ups and integration with server-side JSP * Writing company's XHTML coding guidelines * Graphics manipulation and optimization using Photoshop and Fireworks * Participation in recruitment (CV screening, interviewing and contribution to final decision making) of web designers and junior developers and supervision of web developer.

* Role included: * Ongoing development and maintenance of the department’s web site (using HTML, CSS and Perl), ensuring conformance with W3C accessibility guidelines (WAI Level A) * Promotion of the web site within the department through presentations to staff * Helped academic staff make teaching materials available online * Collaboration with academic and IT staff to ensure on-line information was up to date and to determine future areas of development for web-based resources.

This was a part-time role which I performed while studying for my MSc. It involved building the first website for the Department of Economics at LSE, ensuring conformance with W3C accessibility guidelines. Technologies: HTML, Perl, Unix.
