This role required me to assist with the sale of tickets within the theatre, both face to face and over the phone. I also assisted in managing our mailing list and located groups within communities that may benefited from the work programmed.

I would support the elected Executive team and develop systems to empower them to be out and talking to students, while implementing systems for tracking issues that may rise. I also designed, developed and delivered training for student activists on campaigns planning, tactics and implementation, while supporting campaigners to ensure they created effective impact and change. I left this role to take on a new role within the Union as Arts and Media Coordinator.

As Education Officer, I represented students at UCLan academically, and worked to ensure they received the education they deserved. I worked closely with the senior managers at the University as well as academic staff. I also worked with course and school representatives, who were all volunteers, to help improve courses and introduced a new system where they were more supported by the Students’ Union and were able to make better changes to their courses. My role in the Re:Con was to have input in the programme at Contact. The role also involved producing an event as a team. We created Not Another Festival, a festival set up to connect communities and organisations in Manchester. Part of this was to work with young people from other arts organisations (Z-Arts, Royal Exchange and Gorse Hill Studios) and youth groups (Me1 and Old Trafford Youth) to create music and a piece of theatre in six days to be performed at the end of the festival. This role requires me to review, support and develop arts and media volunteers within our media outlets (newspaper, TV station and radio station), societies and Pangaea Festival, ensuring an excellent experience for all our student volunteers, as well as high quality events, media content and arts experiences. As well as general duties such finance support, bookings events and performances and development training, I also identity key areas for improvement. This has included implementing the Manchester Students' Creative Season, a way to promote and develop society performances. I have also led a project to improve the booking and organisation of student-led events.
